At Dixie Electric Company, the Safety of our employees is of utmost importance and has been critical to our success for over 80 years. Our goal of ZERO accidents is evident in our daily efforts to provide all employees with the tools and education required to accomplish this ultimate goal.
Dixie Electric Company is committed to providing a safe and DRUG-FREE working environment for all employees, and is a charter member of Drug Free Works.Dixie Electric Company conducts extensive training and supervisory workshops to educate all our employees on the benefits of a safe, DRUG-FREE and effective work environment. The training includes emergency procedures, fall protection, confined space entry, hazardous materials, CPR, first aid, etc.
All new employees are tested for abuse of illegal and/or controlled substances and undergo extensive new worker orientation. All employees are subject to further substance abuse testing at random intervals as well as following an accident.
Weekly gang box meetings are conducted to highlight the week's activities and potential areas of concerns. All employees in attendance are required to sign a register of attendance.
Dixie Electric Company is extremely proud of its safety record for the year 2002, working a total of 80,216 employee hours with ZERO (0) lost work hours.
